About our cause

The Isabella Community Association provides a much loved and valued service for the community.

We are a locally run not for profit charitable company limited by guarantee (company number 11878411) governed by a board of Directors.

The Isabella Centre aims to improve the life of the local inhabitants of Blyth and the surrounding area. We are an integral part of the community, promoting inclusion among all its residents and members, encouraging them to participate in various social, recreational and self-help activities with facilities and resources needed for social welfare and support, offering a lifeline to disadvantaged, marginalized and socially isolated individuals.

We feel it is important for all to readjust and get back to normality during these uncertain times.  We offer a safe and secure place with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for our members and visitors to form new groups, make enquiries, find out vital information on health and community issues, and receive advice/guidance or to re-establish or make new social contact with others.

Our café provides low-cost meals and we have two large organizations operating from the centre: Age UK (during normal times) and the Princess Louise Pre-School Nursery.

Our Youth Club is held twice weekly with many activities provided by our dedicated team of Youth workers, acting as role models to educate empower and inspire the 50+ children and young adults that attend. We have a broad range of club members; many come from predominantly deprived and disadvantaged backgrounds.

At present, with the restrictions imposed, we have safety measures in place to comply with government guidelines regarding Covid19. Many of our more established clubs and organizations are taking a break but we are still running various classes including Zumba, Tai Chi, Karate, Colledge4Canines, Tutorials for 5-16 year olds and Orange Box training. Our rooms are still available for hire for permitted venues and activities.

We need your help so we can continue to provide vital services by sharing our information to others.

Thank you for your support and good luck!

Yours sincerely,

Mr Doug Rutter
